Tasha gets her nails trimmed and wings clipped. She's about 28 years old and originally my dad's bird. She is a Congo African Grey parrot. Her flight feathers have been trimmed her whole life so we continue with what she's used to. If we don't, she becomes very irritable and aggressive until we give in and give her a trim. She's always been surrounded with so much love! As you can see, she loves to help, complete with imitations and sounds. :) She does NOT like the feel of when her beak needs trimmed. They don't usually need it trimmed because they do it themselves. Hers was just a little bit long! DO NOT TRIM YOUR PARROTS BEAK UNLESS YOU KNOW HOW! Their beaks are very sensitive; cutting too close can lead to DAMAGE. We also don't give her food that has sunflower seeds in it. Those are her favorite so we use them as reward and treats. She eats a balanced pellet diet with plenty of fresh vegetables. She loves cucumber and, most recently, celery! Tasha loves exploring fruits too! We give those to her in foraging toys for an extra treat and enrichment.
